These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of Restep AI, a mobile application with bundle identifier com.sashacherbadzhy.restep. By downloading or using Restep AI, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

Restep AI is a wellness and recovery self-management tool. It is not a medical device, medical service, or emergency service. These Terms should be read with the Restep AI Privacy Policy.

Using Restep AI

Restep AI lets you create and manage recovery habits, complete daily check-ins, keep private journal entries, record moments and triggers, use local reminders, view calendar and basic-progress information, use Support Sessions, read available guides, and earn achievements. These core features are intended to work locally on your device where the implementation supports them.

Some features require Premium access, including additional active habits, Recovery Journey, Weekly Recovery Report, Trigger Analytics, AI Recovery Analysis, AI Recovery Coach, and Premium guides. The exact availability of a feature can change as the app is updated. Support Sessions, daily check-ins, journal, reminders, basic statistics, achievements, and one active habit are not intended to require Premium access.

You must be at least 18 or the age of digital consent or majority required where you live, whichever is higher. Do not use Restep AI if you do not meet the applicable age requirement.

Premium Subscriptions and Free Trials

Restep AI may offer Monthly and Yearly Premium subscriptions through the Apple App Store. The price, currency, billing period, taxes where applicable, and offer terms shown by Apple at the time of purchase control. Prices can vary by App Store storefront or region. Restep AI does not set a single global price in these Terms.

Where Apple offers you a three-day free trial, you receive Premium access for the trial period shown in the Apple purchase flow. Eligibility for any free trial or introductory offer is determined by Apple and the App Store; not every user will be eligible or receive an offer.

Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm a purchase, subject to the trial terms displayed by Apple. Unless you cancel under Apple's subscription rules, a subscription automatically renews at the price and period shown by Apple for the selected plan. You can manage or cancel your subscription through your Apple Account subscription settings. Cancellation takes effect according to Apple's rules and generally prevents a future renewal rather than ending already-paid access immediately.

Use the in-app Restore Purchases option to ask Apple and RevenueCat to refresh eligible purchases and Premium entitlement status. Billing, payment processing, refunds, and most subscription-management decisions are handled by Apple under Apple's terms and policies. Contact Apple for billing or refund questions where applicable.

AI Features and Online Processing

AI Recovery Analysis and AI Recovery Coach are optional Premium features. They require an internet connection and online service availability. When you choose to use them, Restep AI intentionally sends the bounded information described in the Privacy Policy to its online service so it can generate a response. Coach also sends the message you choose to submit and a limited number of recent Coach turns.

AI-generated material is produced automatically. It may be inaccurate, incomplete, unsuitable for your circumstances, or unavailable. It is provided for general wellness, recovery support, education, and reflection only. It is not professional, medical, mental-health, addiction-treatment, legal, or emergency advice, and it must not be relied on for diagnosis, treatment, or decisions requiring professional judgment.

Health and Recovery Disclaimer

Restep AI can help you record and reflect on behavior-change and recovery information, but it does not diagnose, treat, cure, prevent, or manage a medical condition. It does not replace a doctor, therapist, addiction specialist, or other qualified professional.

If you have an urgent medical, mental-health, safety, overdose, withdrawal, self-harm, or other emergency concern, seek help from local emergency services or a qualified professional. Do not rely on Restep AI, a Support Session, a guide, or an AI response in an emergency.

Your Content and Responsibilities

You retain ownership of the journal entries, Coach messages, and other content you create in Restep AI. You are responsible for the content you enter and for your decisions and actions based on information displayed by the app.

You agree to use Restep AI lawfully and respectfully. Do not misuse the app or its online services; attempt to interfere with their security, availability, or operation; use them to violate applicable law; or attempt to reverse engineer, bypass, or improperly access the app, backend, or third-party services except where applicable law does not permit that restriction.

Do not enter content into online AI features that you do not want processed as described in the Privacy Policy. You remain responsible for reviewing information before acting on it.

Content, Guides, and Intellectual Property

Restep AI, its software, design, branding, original guides, text, interfaces, and other developer-provided content are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws and remain the property of Oleksandr Cherbadzhy or its licensors. These Terms grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, non-commercial right to use the app as permitted by these Terms and the applicable App Store license.

Some materials cite or link to third-party sources, including an NHS source for smoking-related information. Those sources remain subject to their own terms and policies. External links are provided for convenience; Restep AI does not control or endorse their content.

Availability, Changes, and Compatibility

Local functionality may continue to be available when the app is offline, but online AI features require a network connection, the Restep AI backend, Google Gemini, and related services to be available. Apple, RevenueCat, Google, network providers, and other third parties can experience interruptions or make changes outside the developer's control.

We may update, change, suspend, or discontinue features where reasonably necessary, including for security, legal, technical, or product reasons. We do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or permanent availability of any feature. Compatibility may depend on your device, operating-system version, App Store availability, network connection, and supported configurations.

Privacy

Restep AI's handling of local records, optional online AI processing, subscriptions, notifications, and third-party services is described in the Privacy Policy. Core recovery records are primarily stored on your device, but it would be inaccurate to say that all data always remains on-device because optional AI features intentionally transmit bounded information for processing.

Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Restep AI is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not guarantee recovery outcomes, abstinence, progress, accuracy of calculations, availability of reminders, uninterrupted service, or the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of AI-generated responses, guides, or other content.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Oleksandr Cherbadzhy will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss arising from reliance on the app or its content. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded, including rights that mandatory consumer-protection law gives you.

Apple App Store Terms

Restep AI is distributed through Apple's App Store. Your use is also subject to Apple's applicable media-services terms and, where applicable, Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement unless you are presented with a different applicable license.

Apple is not responsible for Restep AI's content, Support Sessions, AI functionality, maintenance, support, or claims relating to the app. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Restep AI. Your use of subscriptions, payments, refunds, and App Store services is subject to Apple's applicable terms and policies. To the extent required by Apple's terms, Apple and its subsidiaries may be third-party beneficiaries of the provisions relating to use of the app and may enforce those provisions.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms when Restep AI, its services, or applicable law changes. We will make the updated Terms available in the app, on an applicable webpage, or both, with a revised effective date. Your continued use after the updated Terms take effect is subject to applicable law.
